Normally, winter in London Ontario is something to hunker down and get through. This year seems different. And I am not specifically referring to the pandemic or that we are locked down. I am referring to the weather, this year…especially January and February. We have received snow, but only enough to keep things looking fresh and white. As soon as things start looking grey and bleary, along comes a little more snow to freshen things up again. And, has anyone else noticed how many sunny days there has been? With our dogs wanting two long walks each day, I have been in the position to notice this lovely winter. Maybe its just me trying to find the positive in these strange days.
We can’t travel south this year, so we might as well make the best of our Canadian winter. While it has been chilly these past 2 weeks, it is easy to dress for the cold. Between cheery fires in the fireplace to evening soaks in the hot tub under the stars, it has been quite a pleasant winter.
Next year, when all this pandemic stuff is in the history books, we can look forward to socializing, travel, shopping, movies at the theatre, drinks in a bar, dinners out, and not having to wear mask anymore.
Until then, I am looking for the positive in Winter 2021. I hope you are too!
